The oscillator presented by Tanaka and Takeuti (1988) is discussed and compared to the one-zone stellar model by Baker et al. (1966). The properties of the oscillators are listed, solutions without damping terms are developed, and the effects of damping terms are discussed. The model by Tanaka and Takeuti has three types of singularity in the case where there is no damping, whereas the Baker model demonstrates only one type of singularity.
