Attention is given to the significance of various types of resonance of oscillations of ellipsoidal figures for explaining the phenomenon of the superposition of harmonics of light and ray velocity of Beta Canis Majoris stars. The existence of at least two close frequencies corresponding to different types of oscillations which interact nonlinearly is shown.
