The detection of a weak He I 4471 A line in high-resolution coude-spectrograms of the O3 star HD 93250 has made it possible to determine effective temperature, gravity, and helium abundance. This is achieved by detailed non-LTE model atmosphere and line formation calculations followed by a fit of the hydrogen and helium line spectrum, which yields: T(eff) equals 52500 plus or minus 2500 K, log g equals 3.95 plus or minus 0.15 cgs, and a normal helium abundance. Mass, luminosity, and radius are then calculated. Comparison of these data with evolutionary tracks, including mass loss, leads to a conclusion that HD 93250 is a main-sequence O star with more than 100 solar masses.
