Blazar S5 0716+714 (PKS 0716+71) is highly variable at short and long term timescales in all energy regimes. Recently (ATel # 3700), it is reported to be in flaring state in optical and gamma-rays by Blinov et al (2011). Source is shown to have brightened by one magnitude during three nights with R~ 12.5 on 2011.10.21UT23. Following ATel#3700, we observed S5 0716+71 in J and H near IR bands with NICS (1kx1k) mounted on the 1.2m telescope of MIRO (Mt Abu InfraRed Observatory) operated by the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad.
