We obtained OASIS/PUEO 2D spectrography and retrieved archival HST/WFPC2 and STIS data of the elliptical galaxy NGC 4621. We discovered a counter-rotating stellar core with an unusually small radius (<50pc). Surprisingly, this core is also significantly offset from both the major and minor axes of the galaxy. These results will be presented in detail, in parallel with new dynamical models. We will finally discuss possible origins for such a structure in the context of recent numerical simulations involving galaxy mergers.
