Spectroscopic and photometric observations of SB0 NGC 2217 are presented, showing the phenomenon of counterrotation. A simple model of a warped and twisted gas disk is used to show that the counterrotation observed is probably caused by a projection effect. The integrated bar luminosity is estimated to be between 5 and 10 percent of the total galaxy luminosity. Estimates for the tumbling velocity of the bar are compared with various bar models.
