NGC 1365 is a barred spiral galaxy at a distance of 23.5 Mpc in the Fornax cluster. It has a Seyfert nucleus showing both a broad and a spatially resolved narrow emission line region. It also shows vigorous starburst activity. We have obtained an R=2000 spectroscopic datacube of the inner 4.1 x 16.3 kpc of the galaxy using the RC Spectrograph on the SMARTS 1.5m telescope at CTIO. The spectra have 2.6" (0.24 kpc) spatial resolution in both right ascension and declination, and cover 4000-7400 Angstroms. Chynoweth et al. (AAS Meeting 209, 217.06) presented maps of line fluxes, line ratios, and velocities of the ionized gas as measured from the emission lines. We have performed kinematic modeling of the galaxy in order to reproduce the observed velocity field of the ionized gas. We also quantify the contributions of the Seyfert and starburst activity to the luminosity from different spatial regions of the galaxy. We present the ages and distributions of the star forming regions. Together with the kinematic modeling, we use the calculated starburst ages and distributions to speculate on the evolutionary history of NGC 1365.
