A search for water vapor masers was conducted in the direction of selected strong point sources detected by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite - IRAS. Three hundred twenty-five points were observed and 18 water maser sources were detected. The detection rate was 5.6 percent. The new sources are discussed and compared with the previously known galactic masers.
