Besides theoretical studies, observation is gradually growing into the study of astronomy in Nigeria. Recently, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) donated some optical instruments (including a telescope) to Nigeria. This was followed by a state-of-the-art equipment, the 4D2U projection system. With a promise of a radio telescope, I think the 4D2U is getting set for a new dimension to the study of astronomy in Nigeria. The use of these equipments is bound to stimulate greater interest in the subject.
