Structures observed about 995 °A in the Lyman ϒ wing of hot
white dwarfs have been demonstrated to be due to quasi-molecular
absorption of H 2 molecules. We present new theoretical calculations of
the line profile of Lyman that include the variation of the radiative
dipole moment during the collision.
