The Chandra survey of the Groth Strip is currently the third deepest (200ks exposure), after those in the HDF-N and CDF-S areas, so provides an important complement to these ultradeep surveys. The region is also distinguished by outstanding multiwavelength coverage, which is continuing (e.g. DEEP, Spitzer, HST). We present the results from this survey. The X-ray properties of the sources, particularly the spectra, starkly contradict standard population synthesis models for the X-ray background. Wide HST/WFPC2 coverage provides a relatively large sample of X-ray galaxies with high quality morphological information, giving a taste of what we can expect from comprehensive ACS imaging that has now been approved. We will also report on new results comparing the X-ray data to high redshift galaxies (e.g. Lyman Break Galaxies, SCUBA sources). Our Chandra survey significantly extends the number of these relatively rare objects for which high quality X-ray data are available.
