New two-dimensional maps of the visibility of fringes produced by Alpha Orionis have been obtained at several wavelengths using the McMath telescope at Kitt Peak in 1982 February. These maps show evidence for a time evolution of the dust envelope and indicate a possible stellar companion. Comparison with more recent speckle data favors our interpretation.
