A method for determining the height of hydroxyl-emission layers in the upper atmosphere which are associated with internal gravity waves is described. The method is based on the observation of variations of OH-emission intensity at two ground points located several tens or hundreds of kilometers apart. An experimental verification of the method is discussed.
