Recent advances in spacecraft and instrument technologies which can be used for renewed lunar explorations are discussed together with concepts of new lunar missions. These potential missions include polar orbiters for mapping the whole moon, a distributed network of long-lived landers, surface rovers with a variety of missions, and astrophysical instruments placed on the lunar surface. The paper discusses the missions, investigations, instruments, and data systems which can be developed by new techniques.
