The goal of this project is to identify new low-mass members of nearby young moving groups (NYMGs) using a proper motion selection algorithm and various observational techniques (Lepine and Simon, 2008). We apply the selection algorithm to the TYCHO-2 proper motion catalog, supplemented by 2MASS, and the SUPERBLINK proper motion survey. Initial selection cuts of candidate members are based on the mean motion of existing NYMG members and the proper motions and photometric distances of prospective candidates. NYMG membership is further investigated from possible signs of youth, including Hα emission and X-ray flux, and then verified through radial velocity measurements. We identify PM I21376+0137 ( M5) and PM I04439+3723 ( M1) as new members of the Beta Pictoris (β Pic) moving group and TYC 1752 63 1 ( K5) as a new member of the AB Doradus (AB Dor) moving group. We also reconfirm the membership of several known β Pic and AB Dor moving group members. PM I22187+3321, originally selected as a candidate for membership in the β Pic moving group, is actually a field, double-lined, spectroscopic binary with an M2 primary and a mass ratio of 0.51 ± 0.02.
