The authors have obtained limits to the rms fluctuations in the cosmic background radiation from two independent VLA observations at 4.9 GHz between angular scales of 12arcsec and 60arcsec. With 95% confidence, these limits are: ΔT/T < 0.6×10-4 at 60arcsec, <0.8×10-4 at 30arcsec, <1.2×10-4 at 18arcsec, and <8.5×10-4 at 12arcsec. The authors also determined the density of discrete sources between 4 and 30 μJy. The results from the two experiments are in excellent agreement, and the errors are consistent with those due to receiver noise.
