Scientific paper

New HI absorption measurements made towards six pulsars are presented. Kinematic distance limits are derived for five of them. Mean line-of-sight electron densities are estimated using the dispersion measurements of the pulsars. Temperatures are derived for the cold absorbing HI clouds from the amount of absorption seen in the observed pulsar spectra.
