The paper discusses a search for 1.35-cm water-vapor maser emission in 74 late type stars; five new H2O sources were detected. The searched list included a few peculiar objects, 13 supergiants, and almost all southern long-period Mira variables with spectral class later than M 3 and with magnitude brighter than 8 at maximum. The characteristics of the microwave line velocities of the known H2O sources associated with visible stars are discussed.
