Gamma-Ray Telescopes, Gamma-Ray Surveys: X-Ray Sources

Scientific paper

A new installation has been used since 1989 at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory for very-high-energy (>1012eV) gamma-ray observations. The GT-48 installation consists of two identical gamma-ray telescopes placed 20 m apart. The first scientific results have been obtained. A new gamma-ray source called Cyg γ-2 was found close to the X-ray source Cyg X-3, a VHE gamma-ray burst was detected in the vicinity of EV Lac. Some results of the Crab Nebula observations are presented as well.
