All the acquisition done during mechanical testing at ESTEC has been performed in the last 14 years by a unique acquisition system. This system was providing signal conditioning, measurement and on-line data reduction for charge accelerometers and a limited number of direct channels for a total of up to 252 channels. This year a new acquisition system was installed. The experience of the test house was joined to the experience of a well-known supplier to come to this unique system. It offers many improvements made possible by the huge technology step of these last years. The new system does not only allow the conditioning and acquisition of a large number of channels (512) but it also performs the on-line reduction for standard testing to limit the post-test activities. It is compatible with the latest development in term of sensors. The quality and accuracy of the measurement is one order of magnitude better with the hardware. The design of the system has been done to offer a maximum of flexibility and reliability without reducing the efficiency.
