The important role of electrons in the formation of H(+)(H2O)n ion complexes and aerosols has been substantiated experimentally. It has been observed that electron streams can also lead to the detachment of unstable excited long-lived complex ions of H3(+) and N3(+) type from solid surfaces. It is suggested that, in the upper atmosphere, these excited complex ions can be detached from aerosol and dust surfaces.
