The solution of the inverse problem, obtained on the basis of the analytical solution of the respective direct problem as described by Kjurkchieva (1987), is applied to the II Peg 1977 light curve, and the results are compared to those obtained with the Vogt's (1981) geometrical solution. It is shown that the present method makes it possible to determine the inclination of the rotation axis, a parameter which cannot be obtained by other means. It is noted that, if the examined system is eclipsing, the comparison of the orbital inclination with rotation can give useful information for the evolutionary status of the system.
