The paper discusses the emission properties of laser-active media using perfluoralkylmercury halides during broadband optical pumping. Low-temperature (less than about 100 C) laser action is obtained during CF3HgI photodissociation, and the laser activity of the i-C3F7HgBr molecule is demonstrated. It is shown that the energy characteristics of active media utilizing perfluoralkylmercury halides are not inferior to those of laser media utilizing mercury dihalides, but effective laser action in them occurs at substantially lower temperatures (120-135 C).
