Neutron diffraction pole figures have been determined for three iron-nickel meteorite samples. Pole figure peaks for the Coahuila and Walker County hexahedrites can be assigned to reflections from a single crystal or to reflections due to 221-plane twinning. For the Gibeon octahedrite specimen, taenite pole figures show that taenite rims have the orientation of the parent gamma-phase. The orientation between kamacite lamellae and taenite rims is deduced. Variation selection is found to occur with the kamacite crystals, indicating the presence of strain during kamacite growth.
