The general expression for the plasma neutrino energy loss rate due to the axial-vector current is derived for the first time and accurately computed by using the Weinberg-Salam theory. It is proved that the axial-vector contribution is at most on the order of 0.01 percent of the vector contribution for T of 10 to the 11th K or less. The present calculation is a generalization of Adams, Ruderman, and Woo's (1963) theorem that the plasma neutrino energy loss rate is overwhelmingly dominated by the vector current to the case of general temperatures of astrophysical importance. An accurate analytic fitting formula for the plasma neutrino energy loss rate which is valid for T of 10 the 11th K or less is presented.
