Type Ia supernovae(SNe) produce a burst of neutrino emission due to the electron capture on free protons and nuclei in the hot and dense matter processed by explosive nucleosynthesis. We calculated its luminosity and energy spectrum for a standard SN Ia model and with updated weak reaction rates. We found the peak neutrino (νe) luminosity of ~ 1050 erg s-1 and the duration of the burst ~ 1 sec. We also calculated the spectrum of the neutrino emission.
