Results of the observation of 21-cm neutral hydrogen absorption and emission in the region surrounding the Orion nebula are reported. Measurements of the absorption line and emission distribution were made at declinations from -5 deg 05 arcmin 16 arcsec to -5 deg 25 arcmin 16 arcsec and right ascensions between 5 h 27 min and 5 h 37 min using the RATAN-600 radiotelescope with a resolution of 2.2 x 20 arcmin. Results indicate the presence of a core and a shell region surrounding the emission source, and the presence of three bright clouds of average radial velocity 10.5 km/sec. Observations lead to a model of an expanding rotating neutral hydrogen cloud with a radius of 4 pc, a depth of 1-2 pc, a mass of 100 solar masses, a rotational velocity of 5 km/sec, and a center of rotation corresponding to the center of the extended radio source Orion A, which has apparently arisen through the perturbation of neutral gas by a moving H II region.
