Results of a neutral hydrogen 21-cm line survey of the galactic-center region are presented. The observations, made with a 100-m telescope, cover the region along the galactic plane between -3 and +3 deg longitude of the galactic center and at velocities of -300 to +300 km/s with a spatial resolution of 9 arcmin and a velocity resolution of 2.75 km/s. The neutral hydrogen emission in the negative longitude, negative velocity quadrant of the nuclear disk is reanalyzed using the modelling technique of Sanders and Wrixon (1973). The principal revision of the previous results required by these higher-resolution observations concerns the neutral hydrogen density distribution in the inner 300 pc of the Galaxy, where a spiral enhancement of gas density is proposed to account for emission from a purely rotating disk. The dynamical limit to a condensed mass at the galactic center remains at 100 million solar masses.
