Hard-scattered partons travel with high momentum through the QCD medium produced in heavy ion collisions, interact with it, and finally fragment into highly correlated jets of hadrons. Since pQCD provides reliable estimates of the initial state hard scattering cross sections, measuring the final state properties of these jets will probe the QCD medium. One particularly interesting jet correlation measurement is the direct photon-jet correlation. Because photons do not interact with the QCD medium, they preserve information about the initial state, especially the total energy of the correlated jet. Status of the analysis of the back-to-back correlation function between high transverse momentum neutral particles detected with the electromagnetic calorimeter and charged particles detected with the tracking detectors in Au-Au collisions at root(s)=200GeV will be presented.
