Images of Neptune and its moon Triton, photographed by the two Voyager spacecraft are reproduced. After months of analysis by the Voyager science team the photos of Neptune, its rings, and Triton have taken on new clarity. Some photo captions include: the aquamarine color of Neptune due primarily to methane gas in the planet's upper atmosphere, the planet's south pole, surrounded by a clearing in the hydrogen dominated atmosphere, principal cloud features, a Mercator map depiction of the portion of Triton seen by Voyager 2, and an analysis of Triton's principal terrain features.
