We propose to use the FLAMINGOS multi-object spectrometer to complete a spectroscopic survey of 9 rich clusters in the Orion molecular cloud complex. These data will be used to obtain spectral types for all stars with, 11 < H< 15.5, in these clusters. The scientific goals of the proposal are to determine the masses and ages for the stars in the embedded clusters, determine and compare the IMF, star formation efficiency and star formation rates for these clusters. Finally we plan to combine our FLAMINGOS data with existing SPITZER data to investigate the frequency and lifetime of circumstellar disks as a function of stellar mass.
