Near-IR photometry of 38 objects associated with unidentified IRAS PSC sources, which have colors in the FIR similar to those of planetary nebulae are presented. From their IR flux distribution, from their low-resolution IR spectra and from their position in the near-IR color-color diagrams, their precise nature is identified. They fall in different categories: six are possible post-AGB stars, five Mira variables or OH/IR stars, fifteen very likely new planetary nebulae while the last twelve are objects showing large amounts of extinction. Some of them could be photoplanetary nebulae while others could represent premain-sequence objects.
