We report spectroscopy near 2.2 microns of several luminous (LIR = 10(11) - 10(12) Lsun) infrared galaxies. The spectra were obtained using CGS4 on the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope and CSHELL on the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility, and have resolving powers lambda / Delta lambda ranging from 330 to several thousand. Our sample includes starburst galaxies such as NGC 6240 and AGN such as NGC 1068. We show a preliminary rotation curve, obtained with CSHELL, for the luminous (LIR = 5.5 x 10(11) Lsun) galaxy IRAS 1829 -34. Finally, we will discuss the H2 v=1-0S(1) and Brackett gamma emission line strengths of these galaxies and compare these luminous objects to the ultraluminous objects (LIR > 10(12) Lsun) observed by Goldader et al. (ApJ, submitted).
