Dust obscured quasars may form the ``missing link'' between starbursts and normal quasars, and their numbers and characteristics at z~ 2-3, where both massive galaxies and quasars are building up most of their mass, are important to pin down. We have tentative evidence from optical spectroscopy of mid-IR selected obscured quasars that obscured objects significantly outnumber unobscured ones at these redshifts, but our spectroscopic completeness is low. We propose to use NIRI to obtain spectroscopy of candidate z>2 dust obscured quasars for which we have attempted to obtain spectroscopic redshifts in the optical, but for which we have only tentative redshifts based on low signal-to-noise emission line detections, or no emission lines at all.
