A near-infrared spectroscopic observation of a high-redshift quasar, PKS 0201+113, made with the OH-airglow suppressor spectrograph (OHS) is presented. This quasar is known to have a damped Lyalpha system in the line of sight. Distinctive characteristics shown in the low-resolution spectrum of the quasar in the J- and H-bands are a large redshift difference between the Mg II emission line and high-excitation lines, the presence of Fe II emission features and a possibly reddened continuum spectrum. The difference in the velocity between the C IV and Mg II lines is consistent with a simple picture of the separated distribution of broad line regions made of two regions: i) high-excited clouds having a high outflow velocity and ii) relatively quiescent low-excited clouds surrounding the central hot region. The presence of Fe II emission implies that the metalicity of the central environmental gas of the high-redshift quasar is still similar to that of low-redshift quasars. A softening of the spectral slope toward short wavelengths could be explained if we take reddening by the damped Lyalpha system into account.
