The positions of newly detected IR sources and the relevant photometry between one and five microns are reported for the molecular cloud NGC 6334. The sources are individually discussed, and by comparison with observations at other wavelengths a more complete scheme of sequential star formation in the cloud is presented. The simple star formation model that considers star formation to result from a shock wave proceeding from the center of the cloud outwards is criticized. Finally, a hypothesis about the presence of low-mass protostars in the molecular cloud is discussed.
