New observations of NGC 2024 (a bright H II region) at 2.2 and 3.5 microns are presented and discussed in terms of stars in the nebula, bremsstrahlung and thermal dust emission, energy distribution and luminosity, and excitation of the nebula. IR emission was found over a large area, with much of the radiation attributable to thermal emission of hot dust. Models with more than one exciting star are favored for the region.
