Aspects of GPS research are reviewed. Navigation using radio interferometric techniques, analyses leading to more accurate orbit prediction of GPS satellites, and high precision application of GPS beyond the current 16 m spherical error probability capability are discussed. Improved ground systems are advocated in order to fully exploit the radio interferometric technique. User system signal processing and data processing capabilities for high precision applications, are needed.
