Narrow-band 1 - 5 μm magnitudes have been measured for 25 dwarf stars, of spectral type B8 - A3, relative to Vega. The observations were made at UKIRT using the Imperial College four-channel InSb photometer, and they imply that Vega's J-K, J-L' and J-M colours are normal for an A0 star. Using the absolute calibration of Mountain et al. (1985), this suggests that the infrared fluxes calculated from model atmospheres of A-type stars are too small by 3 - 11 per cent at 2 - 5 μm.
