We study the radio emission region of the Vela pulsar at nanoarcsecond angular resolution, using scattering in the Vela supernova remnant as an AU-scale lens. We present results of interferometric observations with ground-based radiotelescopes and the HALCA orbiting radiotelescope, and the resulting picture of the pulsar's emission region. We suggest that radio-wave refraction within the pulsar's magnetosphere may explain this structure.
