The paper uses Bhavsar's statistic on the fraction of galaxies in groups, fg(theta f), where fg is the fraction of galaxies belonging to groups and (theta f) is the angular distance in the sky which defines the single galaxies, in order to distinguish between N-body simulations and to compare them with observations. It is reported that the observed power law dependence of fg on (theta f) down to small scales suggests that the covariance function must also extend with a power law to smaller scales than previously observed. In addition, the function fg proves to be a better discriminator between these two models than the covariance function for r greater than 50 kpc because fg integrates all the pairs closer than (theta f).
