The purpose of this paper is to compare low complexity LEI padding and MxN DCT method with 'macroblock-padding' technique for encoding the textures around the boundary blocks of an object. For this experiment, MxN DCT and LEI are applied to the boundary blocks of a video object plane. And then, the performance of two techniques will be compared separately with those of repetitive padding.
