We will present initial results from MUSYC, the Multiwavelength Survey by Yale & Chile. Our survey consists of deep optical (UBVRIz) and near-infrared (JHK) imaging of four quarter-square-degree fields on the sky, centered on CDF-S, HDF-S, SDSS1030+05, and Cast1255+01. Three of these fields have existing or approved space-based coverage, including SIRTF, Chandra, XMM, GALEX, and HST-ACS. We will measure the luminosity functions and clustering properties of quasars, protogalaxies, and evolved optical break galaxies at z=3. A proper motion survey will probe Galactic structure by detecting halo white dwarfs. A detailed study of the objects found is being performed through multislit spectroscopy on VLT, Gemini, and Magellan. Our optical images of the HDF-S will be released to the astronomy community in the near future. E.G. acknowledges the support of Fundacion Andes and an NSF Astronomy & Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship (AAPF).
