Calgary neutron-monitor data and soft X-ray parameters derived from
Solar Radiation satellite measurements have been subjected to
cross-correlation analyses on a daily basis, for the maximum phase of
solar cycle 20. Clues for a strong relationship between X-ray solar
flares and temporal cosmic ray modulation are not established.
