The radial velocities of 16 stars located in the inner 50 arcsec from the center of M30 were secured from high-resolution spectra obtained with the CASPEC spectrograph at the ESO 3.5-m telescope. Evidence is presented to the effect that the velocity dispersion of galactic globular clusters may be somewhat underestimated by the rms deviation of single star velocities about their mean value due to star blends.
