Infrared observations are presented which reinforce the conclusion reached from optical data that the variability of HR 5999, sometimes being misidentified as HR 6000, is due to ejected dust grains. A simple model is proposed for the existing dust shell. This simple model fits the colors reasonably well. Visible and IR observations planned at a number of observatories for 1978 are expected to give a much more complete picture of this interesting system.
