In view of massive surveys to be made in the near future for high- z QSOs at redder wavelength, we devised a new selection technique to separate QSO candidates from Galactic stars based on the photometric data in BVRI band. Our technique modifies the UBVR multi-color stellar locus selection method by Gaidos et al.(1993) and Newberg et al. (1997), and includes a selection criteria based on the QSO loci simulated from our original model QSO spectra. We applied it to the BVRI images taken at the Kiso observatory with a 50 arcmin field of view with a completeness down to R ~ 21 mag for BVRI detection. We obtained 223 candidates from BVRI stellar-locus selection criterion and 90 among these 223 further matched with criteria based on the QSO loci in the multicolor diagram. We propose to make a multi-fiber spectroscopy with HYDRA at WIYN telescope in order to evaluate the success rate of our selection technique.
