Recently, there has been a growing recognition of the role of the multi-dimensional dynamics explosion models for core collapse supernovae. The results of the multi-group models of Mezzacappa et al. (1997) have indicated that improved neutrino transport models may increase the difficulty of obtaining explosions in computational radiation hydrodynamic models of supernovae. For this reason we have carried out a series of multi-D models of the convective epoch in supernovae with improved transport to better understand how the core collapse leads to an explosion. These models have been carried out with a multi-group treatment of neutrino transport that obviates the need for any assumptions about the nature of the distribution of neutrino energies. We will present our results of this series of multi-group models with a detailed discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of these models.
