Scientific paper

Samples of Apollo 11 lunar surface material were studied by the
Mossbauer effect. Owing to the small number of other resonant isotopes,
all measurements were made with Fe-57 nuclei. The principal constituents
of the material were as follows: Iron containing silicates (olivine,
pyroxene, and so on), ilmenite (FeTiO3), and metallic iron.
