An analysis of time series of mean yearly geomagnetic field values is carried out on the basis of data from 54 magnetic observatories. The study involves a trend analysis and the identification of components with periods of 60, 20, and 11 years, with emphasis placed on the morphology of 20-year variations. Results indicate the existence of several extremum regions (foci) for the 20 year variations. A common source for 20 and 60 year variations is proposed.
